INTERVIEW: AHMED SAMY
The audio component features Ahmed Samy, one of the most famous Egyptian House DJs performing inside and outside of the Egypt. It tells his story with his work on a national and international scale and it dives deeper into issues that Samy and other local DJs are facing specially during times of COVID-19. Samy talks a little about the Egyptian EDM scene and it’s misconceptions. He also compares performing abroad in cities such as Berlin, Paris, and New York to Egypt.
TRACKS/SETS
Tracks are recorded bits of music usually between 3-8 minutes long. Producers create tracks from raw sounds, live or digital by combining them together in a formation, following a certain basic guideline and their artistic sense. Sets are a combination of tracks mixed down together in a way in which they overlap at specific, sometimes several, points. Sets are ideally around one hour long. DJs work with sets, producers work with tracks.
